The Japanese history of the cast iron teapot

Maintaining your cast iron teapot
After use, rinse your Bredemeijer® cast iron teapot with warm water and dry it with a soft cloth. Store the teapot without the lid to prevent rusting. You can place a paper towel between the lid and the teapot to absorb any moisture. Over time, the enamel interior of the teapot may turn dark brown. Avoid sudden temperature changes, and never drop the teapot, as this could cause the enamel to crack.
Never clean a cast iron teapot in the dishwasher, as this can cause rust. Before using the teapot for the first time, thoroughly wash the interior with water and dish soap, and dry the teapot with a clean, dry cloth.
