Recipe spicy chickpeas on bread

 

What you need

200g chickpeas • 2 tbs flour • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika powder • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper • pinch of sea salt • bread of choice (tip: bruschetta or a dark brown bread) • olive oil • cilantro (optional)

 

Recipe

  1. Drain the chickpeas from water and rinse with cold water. Then towel dry them.
  2. Put the chickpeas in a bowl with the flour, a pinch of salt, paprika powder and cayenne pepper. Stir.
  3. Heat up one tablespoon of olive oil in a frying pan and bake on medium heat until the chickpeas are golden brown. Remove from fire and let rest.
  4. Use a hand blender to make it a smooth chickpea spread.
  5. Add it to a bowl and top with olive oil, loose chickpeas and cilantro.
  6. Serve it with your bread of choice (tip: bruschetta or a dark brown bread).
  7. You can top it with avocado and cherry tomatoes if you want to make it extra special.
